Example: The report calls for SOF to shift from counterterrorism toward competition with China and Russia.
The five "SOF truths" include "Humans are more important than hardware" and "SOF cannot be mass produced." Pronounced "soff." Many NATO and allied nations have their own special operations forces, and the term is often used loosely in news coverage.

Hepatitis C polymerase inhibitor that became the backbone of all-oral cures, alone as Sovaldi and combined with ledipasvir (Harvoni), velpatasvir (Epclusa) or velpatasvir and voxilaprevir (Vosevi).
Example: SOF/VEL (Epclusa) 1 tab daily x 12 weeks; SVR12 pending.
Approved in 2013, sofosbuvir-based regimens cure more than 95 percent of patients in 8 to 12 weeks, but the initial US price of about $84,000 per course provoked a national debate on drug pricing. The FDA warned in 2015 about serious slow heart rates when it is combined with amiodarone.
