Stands forShipping and handling
CategoriesBusiness & Finance

S&H stands for Shipping and handling, an e-commerce & retail abbreviation also used in general use.

Charge added to an order to cover delivery costs plus the seller's packing and processing, shown separately from the product price on US orders and invoices.

Example: Just $19.99 plus $6.95 S&H.

Usage notes

"Handling" can include markup beyond the actual postage, which made inflated S&H charges a classic feature of TV infomercials. US Federal Trade Commission rules require mail and online sellers to ship within the time stated, or within 30 days if no time is given. The British equivalent is P&P.
