1. Insulin sensitivity factor

Expected drop in blood glucose from one unit of rapid-acting insulin, used to calculate correction doses for high readings. An ISF of 50 means one unit lowers glucose by about 50 mg/dL.
Example: Correction: (glucose 250 minus target 120) ÷ ISF 45 = about 3 units.
Also called the correction factor (CF). Starting values are often estimated with the "1800 rule" for rapid-acting insulin (1800 divided by total daily dose). Insulin on board from earlier boluses must be considered to avoid stacking doses and causing hypoglycemia.
2. Importer Security Filing

Data filing required by US Customs and Border Protection for ocean cargo bound for the United States, submitted at least 24 hours before the goods are loaded on the vessel at the foreign port. It is known as "10+2."
Example: Our broker files the ISF as soon as the supplier confirms the booking.
Importers supply ten data elements, such as seller, buyer, manufacturer, country of origin and HTS numbers, while carriers provide two, the vessel stow plan and container status messages. Late or inaccurate filings can bring penalties of $5,000 per violation.
