Usage notes

It took over the benefits side of the Immigration and Naturalization Service in March 2003 and is led by a Director. Applicants track cases online with a 13-character receipt number that begins with a three-letter service center code such as IOE or MSC. USCIS also administers the civics and English tests for naturalization.
