TFLOPS stands for Teraflops, a computer hardware abbreviation also used in measurement.
Trillion floating-point operations per second, the unit commonly used to compare graphics cards and game consoles. The PlayStation 5 is rated at about 10.3 TFLOPS and the Xbox Series X at about 12 TFLOPS.
Example: Console marketing focused on TFLOPS, but memory bandwidth and the CPU matter just as much.
Usage notes
Advertised GPU teraflops usually assume every shader core performs a fused multiply-add on every clock cycle at peak boost speed, a best case rarely sustained. Figures from different GPU architectures do not translate directly into game performance. Also written TFLOPs or teraFLOPS. AI accelerators quote "AI TFLOPS" at low precision, often many times the FP32 figure.
