TBW stands for Terabytes written, a data unit abbreviation also used in technology.
An SSD endurance rating: the total data the manufacturer guarantees can be written to the drive during its warranty. A 1 TB consumer NVMe drive is typically rated at about 600 TBW.
Example: The 2 TB model carries a five-year warranty or 1,200 TBW, whichever comes first.
Usage notes
Flash cells wear out after a limited number of program/erase cycles, so TBW sets a warranty limit, though most drives outlast it. It converts to DWPD (drive writes per day): 600 TBW over five years on a 1 TB drive is about 0.33 DWPD. Utilities such as CrystalDiskInfo and smartctl show how much has been written so far.
