EMBA stands for Executive Master of Business Administration, a degree abbreviation.

MBA designed for experienced managers who continue working full time, with classes on weekends or in intensive residential modules over about two years. Students typically have well over a decade of work experience and are often sponsored by their employers.

Example: The EMBA cohort meets every other Friday and Saturday at the downtown campus.

Usage notes

The University of Chicago launched the first executive MBA in 1943. An EMBA awards the same degree as a full-time MBA at most schools; the diploma usually just reads Master of Business Administration. EMBA programs rarely require a GMAT score and cost more because tuition often includes meals and lodging.
