1. Want to show
Units & Measurements · Math Abbreviations
Shorthand in proofs, lecture notes and homework that states the goal of an argument, as in "WTS: f is continuous at a". It helps keep track of what remains to be proved.
Example: WTS: the sequence converges to 0, so fix an arbitrary epsilon > 0.
Similar informal markers include NTS (need to show). They are usually removed from final written proofs. Instructors encourage writing the goal explicitly because an unclear target is a common source of circular reasoning.
2. Want to sell
Texting & Internet Slang · Gaming Slang Abbreviations · also used in general use
Prefix for trade-chat or marketplace posts offering an item for sale, as in "WTS crafting materials, cheap." Used in MMORPGs, Discord trading servers and forums.
Example: WTS 200 iron ore, 5 gold each, PST.
Often paired with price details and PST (please send tell). Auction houses and marketplaces reduced the need for trade chat in many games, but WTS remains common in community servers. Selling items for real money instead is RMT, which most games ban.
