Local government body responsible for most of London's transport network, including the Underground, buses, the Elizabeth line, Overground, DLR, trams, river services and major roads. Its roundel logo is one of the world's best-known transit symbols.

Example: TfL says there's a severe delay on the Northern line, so I'm taking the bus.

Created in 2000 under the Mayor of London. TfL introduced the Oyster smartcard in 2003 and contactless bank-card payment in 2012 for buses, followed by the Tube in 2014, influencing systems worldwide. The red, white and blue roundel dates to early 20th-century Underground branding. TfL also administers the congestion charge and ULEZ.

TRICARE For Life began in 2001. It has no enrollment fee, but beneficiaries must pay Medicare Part B premiums. Medicare pays first, and TFL pays second for services both cover.

3. Tackle for loss (TFL)

Sports · American Football Abbreviations

Tackle that brings down the ball carrier behind the line of scrimmage, costing the offense yards. Sacks are counted as tackles for loss in most statistical systems.
