Famous examples include EternalBlue in Windows SMB (2017) and Log4Shell in the Log4j library (2021), which let attackers run code simply by getting a server to log a crafted string. 2. Request for continued examination

US patent filing that reopens prosecution after a final rejection or allowance, by paying a fee and submitting amendments, arguments or new references, so the examiner considers the application further. It avoids filing a new continuation application.
