1. Project management office

Business & Finance · Project Management Abbreviations

Central team that sets project management standards, methods, templates and tools for an organization, collects status reporting and may directly manage or oversee a portfolio of projects.

Example: The PMO requires a signed charter before any project over $100,000 can start.

PMI's literature describes three broad types: supportive PMOs that offer templates and training, controlling PMOs that require compliance, and directive PMOs that manage projects themselves. An enterprise-wide version is often called an EPMO. PMOs that only collect reports without adding value are a frequent target of cost-cutting.

2. Pisses me off

Texting & Internet Slang · Gen Z Slang Abbreviations

Expresses annoyance at something, as in "ts pmo" (this s*** pisses me off). It trended heavily among Gen Z and Gen Alpha on TikTok and in texts in 2024 and 2025.

Example: People who don't use their turn signal pmo every single morning.

Mildly vulgar, and typically used for everyday irritations rather than serious anger. In business, PMO means project management office, a far more formal sense that context makes clear. Not appropriate for professional use.

3. Put me on

Texting & Internet Slang · Gen Z Slang Abbreviations

Request for someone to introduce the writer to something new, such as music, a TV show, a product or an opportunity, as in "pmo to some good songs." Used in tweets and texts among young people.

Example: Pmo to some new podcasts, I've finished all of mine.

An older and less common sense than "pisses me off," drawn from the slang phrase "put me on," meaning to put someone onto something good. Context usually distinguishes the two: "pmo to..." is a request, while "ts pmo" is a complaint.
