NGB-22 stands for National Guard Report of Separation and Record of Service, a veteran abbreviation.

Form issued to Army and Air National Guard members when they separate from the Guard, documenting their state service much as a DD-214 documents federal active duty.

Example: My NGB-22 shows 20 years of qualifying Guard service.

Usage notes

Guard members called to federal active duty for qualifying periods also receive a DD-214. The NGB-22 is needed for some state veterans benefits and Guard retirement. Copies are kept by the state's adjutant general office.
