1. Methotrexate
Medical · Drug Abbreviations
Antimetabolite drug used once weekly in low doses for rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and other inflammatory diseases, and in high doses for leukemia, lymphoma and osteosarcoma. It is also used to treat ectopic pregnancy.
Example: MTX 15 mg PO once weekly on Sundays with folic acid 1 mg daily.
ISMP lists MTX as error-prone because it has been confused with mitoxantrone, another cancer drug. The deadliest methotrexate error is taking the weekly dose daily, which causes bone marrow failure and mouth ulcers; ISMP recommends weekly defaults in electronic systems and patient education. High-dose regimens require leucovorin rescue and drug-level monitoring.
2. Microtransactions

Small in-game purchases made with real money, such as skins, currency, loot boxes or time-savers. Common in free-to-play and live-service games.
Example: The game is fun but the MTX are everywhere, even in the menus.
Critics argue that aggressive MTX shape game design around spending, especially in games aimed at children. Loot boxes, a form of MTX, have been regulated or restricted in countries such as Belgium. Players often distinguish cosmetic MTX from pay-to-win purchases.
