MHS stands for Master of Health Science, a degree abbreviation.
Health-related master's degree whose content varies widely by school: at Johns Hopkins it is a research and public health degree, at Duke it is the physician assistant degree, and elsewhere it covers health education or clinical research.
Example: Duke's physician assistant program awards an MHS after 24 months of study.
Usage notes
Written M.H.S. Because the title is used for very different programs, graduates usually name the field, as in "MHS, Epidemiology". Canadian universities use the similar MHSc. The degree is distinct from the MPH, although Johns Hopkins offers both.
