MHA stands for Master of Health Administration, a degree abbreviation also used in medicine.
Graduate degree that prepares students to manage hospitals, health systems, clinics and insurers, covering health economics, finance, operations and policy. Programs accredited by CAHME often include an administrative residency, and many graduates enter post-graduate administrative fellowships.
Example: The hospital's MHA fellowship rotates new graduates through finance, operations and strategy.
Usage notes
Written M.H.A. The MHA is more specialized than an MBA with a health care concentration and less focused on population health than an MPH. Some schools use MHSA (Master of Health Services Administration), as at the University of Michigan, for essentially the same degree.
