In speech a lieutenant colonel is addressed as "Colonel," and informally called a "light colonel." The Air Force and Space Force write Lt Col, the Marine Corps LtCol and AP style Lt. Col. Battalion commanders are chosen by a centralized board, and since 2020 candidates have gone through the Army's command assessment program.
2. Long-term care
Medical · Hospital Abbreviations
Ongoing medical and personal care for people with chronic illness, disability or frailty who cannot fully care for themselves, provided in nursing homes, assisted living or at home. Residents often need help with daily activities rather than skilled treatment.
Example: Family touring LTC facilities; Medicaid application in progress.
Medicare generally does not pay for long-term custodial care, so costs are covered by Medicaid, long-term care insurance or private funds. In Canada LTC homes are publicly regulated and funded by provinces. LTC pharmacies supply nursing homes with specially packaged medications.
3. Litecoin

An early cryptocurrency launched in October 2011 by former Google engineer Charlie Lee as a faster, lighter alternative to bitcoin, with 2.5-minute blocks and a maximum supply of 84 million coins.

Long nicknamed "the silver to Bitcoin's gold". It uses the scrypt mining algorithm and activated SegWit before bitcoin did in 2017, serving as a testing ground for upgrades. Lee sold most of his holdings in December 2017, citing conflicts of interest.
4. Long-term care insurance
Business & Finance · Insurance Abbreviations
Insurance that pays for extended personal care services, such as help with bathing and dressing, at home, in assisted living or in a nursing home, triggered when a person cannot perform at least two activities of daily living or has severe cognitive impairment.
Example: We bought LTC in our 50s because a nursing home costs over $100,000 a year here.
Many insurers left the traditional LTC market after underestimating claims, and existing policyholders faced large premium increases. Hybrid life-insurance policies with LTC riders became popular alternatives. Medicare covers only limited skilled nursing care.
