1. In my opinion
Texting & Internet Slang · Texting and Chat Abbreviations
Marks a statement as personal opinion rather than fact, used across forums, reviews, social media and work chat. It is one of the most widely understood hedges online.
Example: Imo the blue one looks better with your jacket.
Less ironic than IMHO and understood by almost everyone. Placing it first ("imo, ...") softens disagreement, while a trailing "imo" can sound like an afterthought. Acceptable in informal workplace channels; spell it out in reports and formal emails.
2. International Maritime Organization

United Nations specialized agency, headquartered in London, that sets global standards for shipping safety, security and pollution prevention. Its conventions, including SOLAS and MARPOL, govern nearly all international merchant shipping.
Example: The IMO agreed to cut shipping's greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by around 2050.
Established by a 1948 convention and originally named the Inter-Governmental Maritime Consultative Organization (IMCO); it adopted its current name in 1982. It has about 175 member states. IMO also assigns each ship a permanent identification number. In texting, IMO means "in my opinion," a far more common meaning online.
3. IMO ship identification number
Transportation & Travel · Maritime Abbreviations
Unique seven-digit number permanently assigned to a seagoing ship, written as "IMO" followed by the digits, which stays with the vessel through changes of name, owner or flag. It is used to track ships and fight fraud.
Example: The tanker had changed its name three times, but its IMO number exposed its history.
Required under SOLAS for most cargo ships of 300 gross tonnage and above and passenger ships of 100 gross tonnage and above. Numbers are issued on IMO's behalf by S&P Global, formerly Lloyd's Register-Fairplay. Investigators of sanctions evasion track "dark fleet" tankers by their IMO numbers.
