FPCT stands for Fielding percentage, a baseball abbreviation.

Share of chances a fielder handles cleanly: putouts plus assists divided by putouts, assists and errors. It is the oldest fielding statistic but says nothing about range.

Example: He led all shortstops with a .989 FPCT.

Usage notes

Because a fielder who cannot reach a ball never makes an error on it, slow players can post high fielding percentages. Gold Glove voting now combines manager and coach votes with an analytics index. Also written FLD% or FP.
