Founded in 1975, it is not an EU agency; members include the UK, Norway and Switzerland, and it cooperates closely with the EU on programs such as Galileo navigation and Copernicus Earth observation. Its rockets launch from Kourou in French Guiana. In US environmental law, ESA means the Endangered Species Act.
2. Employment and Support Allowance

3. Endangered Species Act
Government & Politics · US Law Abbreviations
Protects plants and animals listed as endangered or threatened, making it illegal to "take" listed animals, requiring federal agencies to avoid jeopardizing listed species and protecting critical habitat. The Fish and Wildlife Service and NOAA Fisheries administer it.
Example: The ESA listing means developers must consult before building in the beetle's habitat.
President Richard Nixon signed it in December 1973. In TVA v. Hill (1978), the Supreme Court halted a nearly finished dam to protect the snail darter, a fish. Species such as the bald eagle and American alligator recovered and were removed from the list. In space news, ESA means the European Space Agency.

Injectable drugs that stimulate red blood cell production: epoetin alfa, darbepoetin alfa and methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta. They treat anemia of chronic kidney disease and some chemotherapy-related anemia, reducing transfusions.
Example: ESA darbepoetin 40 mcg subcut q2 weeks; hold if Hb above 11.5.
Since 2007 boxed warnings have stated that targeting higher hemoglobin levels increases death, heart attack and stroke, and that ESAs may shorten survival in some cancers. 5. Coverdell education savings account

Trust or custodial account for education costs that allows up to $2,000 per beneficiary per year in after-tax contributions, with tax-free growth and withdrawals for qualified school and college expenses. Contributors face income limits, and the money generally must be used by the time the beneficiary turns 30.
Example: The ESA paid for her private high school tuition, while the 529 is reserved for college.
Originally called the Education IRA when introduced in 1997, it was renamed in 2002 in honor of Senator Paul Coverdell.
