CTBTO stands for Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, an international organization abbreviation.
Vienna-based organization preparing for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, which bans all nuclear explosions. It runs a global network of more than 300 monitoring stations that detect seismic, acoustic and radioactive signs of tests.

Usage notes
The treaty was adopted in 1996 but has not entered into force because several states whose ratification is required, including the United States and China, have not ratified it, and India, Pakistan and North Korea have not signed. Russia withdrew its ratification in 2023. Formally it is a Preparatory Commission.
