YDS stands for Yards, an American football abbreviation.

Column header in box scores for yardage gained passing, rushing or receiving. Yards measure progress on the 100-yard field and are the basic unit of offensive statistics.

Example: PASSING: Mahomes 24-36, 291 YDS, 2 TD, 1 INT.

Usage notes

A 1,000-yard rushing or receiving season and a 4,000-yard passing season are traditional benchmarks. Box scores also list penalty yards and return yards under YDS. As a unit, a yard is three feet (0.9144 m), generally abbreviated "yd".
