WQHD stands for Wide Quad High Definition, a consumer electronics abbreviation.
Widescreen (16:9) name for the 2560-by-1440 resolution, interchangeable with QHD in most product listings. Ultrawide 21:9 monitors at 3440 by 1440 are called UWQHD, and phone makers use WQHD+ for taller screens.
Example: The phone's WQHD+ display has 3120 by 1440 pixels.
Usage notes
The "W" originally distinguished widescreen variants of resolutions in the VESA naming system, such as WXGA and WUXGA. On phones, WQHD+ often shipped with a power-saving setting that renders at FHD+ by default. On a 27-inch monitor, WQHD gives about 109 pixels per inch, sharper than FHD without the scaling issues some apps show at 4K.
