TWOC stands for Taking without owner's consent, a police abbreviation.
British offense of taking a motor vehicle or other conveyance without the owner's permission, under section 12 of the Theft Act 1968, without needing to prove an intent to keep it permanently. Joyriding cases are often charged this way.
Example: Two teenagers were arrested for TWOC after the car was found burned out on the estate.
Usage notes
Pronounced "twock," and "twocking" became slang for joyriding. The offense exists because theft requires proving an intent to permanently deprive the owner. An aggravated version applies if the vehicle is driven dangerously or causes injury or damage.
