SDXC stands for Secure Digital eXtended Capacity, a computer hardware abbreviation.
SD card class for capacities above 32 GB up to 2 TB, introduced in 2009 and formatted with exFAT by default. Most cameras, laptops and consoles sold since the early 2010s support it.
Example: The drone records 4K video, so use a 128 GB SDXC card rated V30 or faster.
Usage notes
Devices built for SDHC may not read SDXC cards, partly because of the exFAT file system. The SDUC (Ultra Capacity) class, announced in 2018, extends the limit to 128 TB. SDXC cards often use the faster UHS-I or UHS-II bus, shown by a Roman numeral I or II on the label; UHS-II cards have a second row of contacts.
