Usage notes
ICAO code KMSY. The code comes from Moisant Stock Yards: the airport was built on land once used as stockyards and was named Moisant Field after aviator John Moisant, who died in a 1910 crash near the site. It was renamed in 2001 for jazz legend Louis Armstrong, a New Orleans native, on what would have been his 100th birthday year.
