MAGA stands for Make America Great Again, a political abbreviation.
Campaign slogan of Donald Trump, first used prominently in his 2016 presidential campaign, that also became a label for his political movement and its supporters. It appears on red baseball caps and in phrases such as "MAGA Republicans".
Example: Supporters in MAGA hats lined the road outside the rally venue.
Usage notes
Ronald Reagan's 1980 campaign used the similar slogan "Let's Make America Great Again". Trump applied to trademark the phrase in November 2012. Supporters use MAGA as a positive self-description, while opponents often use it critically, so news organizations generally attribute the label when applying it to individuals.
