GENIUS Act stands for Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins Act, a US law abbreviation.

First federal framework for payment stablecoins, signed in July 2025, requiring issuers to hold reserves of cash or short-term Treasury securities equal to the coins outstanding, publish monthly reserve reports and obtain federal or state approval.

Example: Under the GENIUS Act, every token must be backed one-to-one by cash or Treasury bills.

Usage notes
