FRAGO stands for Fragmentary order, a military term abbreviation.
Abbreviated order that changes or adds to an existing operation order, issued when the situation changes and there is no time or need to rewrite the whole plan.
Example: Battalion just sent a FRAGO moving our departure time up by two hours.
Usage notes
Pronounced "FRAY-go." Joint doctrine uses FRAGORD. A FRAGO normally addresses only the parts of the original order that change, such as a new mission, boundary or timeline. Units on long deployments may receive hundreds of FRAGOs to a single base order.
