FPV stands for First-person view drone, a weapon and military equipment abbreviation.
Small, fast drone flown through a live camera feed displayed in goggles, adapted from racing drones and used in large numbers as cheap guided munitions in the Russia-Ukraine war.
Example: An FPV dove onto the tank and detonated an RPG warhead strapped beneath it.
Usage notes
FPV drones cost a few hundred dollars but can destroy vehicles worth millions. Electronic jamming of their radio links is the main countermeasure. The term originated in drone racing and hobby flying.
