FFM stands for Five-factor model, a psychology abbreviation.

Theoretical framework, developed especially by Paul Costa and Robert McCrae, holding that personality can be described by five broad trait dimensions, each made up of narrower facets. It is often used interchangeably with the Big Five.

Example: The study examined how FFM traits predict job performance across occupations.

Usage notes

Conscientiousness is the FFM trait most consistently linked to job and academic performance. Critics argue the model describes rather than explains personality and may omit traits such as honesty, which the HEXACO model adds. The FFM has been replicated in many languages and cultures, though not universally.
