ChST stands for Chamorro Standard Time, a time zone abbreviation.
Official time of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, US territories in the western Pacific, ten hours ahead of UTC. Guam's clocks run 14 or 15 hours ahead of Washington, D.C., depending on the season.
Example: Polls in Guam close at 8 p.m. ChST, before most of the mainland has woken up.
Usage notes
Congress established the zone by law in 2000 and named it for the Chamorro, the indigenous people of the Mariana Islands. Guam does not observe daylight saving. Because it lies west of the International Date Line, Guam promotes itself as the place "where America's day begins".
