ATA stands for Actual time of arrival, an aviation abbreviation.
Time at which an aircraft, ship or vehicle really arrived, recorded for comparison with the scheduled (STA) and estimated (ETA) times. Airlines log the ATA, normally the in-block time at the gate, for on-time performance statistics.
Example: ATA 14:52 against an STA of 14:30, so the flight is logged as 22 minutes late.
Usage notes
Airline operations track four "OOOI" times, out, off, on and in, often recorded automatically via ACARS: gate departure, takeoff, landing and gate arrival. In shipping, ATA may refer to arrival at the pilot station or at the berth, depending on the charter terms. ATA was also the initials of the Air Transport Association, renamed Airlines for America in 2011.
