CategoriesTexting & Internet Slang

WTT stands for Want to trade, a gaming slang abbreviation also used in general use.

Prefix for posts offering an item in exchange for another rather than for currency, as in "WTT shiny Pikachu for rare Charizard." Common in MMORPGs, Pokémon communities and card-game trading groups.

Example: WTT my extra dragon egg for any rare pet, DM me.

Usage notes

Trading communities develop etiquette around fair values and middlemen to avoid scams. In Pokémon, trading is part of the series' design, encouraged since the first games in 1996. The full form is understood across hobbies.
