WCF stands for Westminster Confession of Faith, a religious term abbreviation.
Reformed statement of faith completed in 1646 by the Westminster Assembly of English and Scottish theologians, which remains the doctrinal standard for many Presbyterian churches. It is accompanied by the Larger and Shorter Catechisms.
Example: Elders in the PCA must affirm the WCF as their confession of faith.
Usage notes
The Shorter Catechism's first question, "What is the chief end of man?", has the famous answer "to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever." Citations give chapter and section, as in WCF 1.6. American Presbyterians revised some chapters on church and state.
