Vdd stands for Drain supply voltage, an electronics & electrical abbreviation.
Positive supply voltage label used mainly for MOSFET and CMOS circuits, named for the drain terminals of field-effect transistors. Processor datasheets often list several rails, such as VDD_CORE and VDD_IO.
Example: The MCU's Vdd pins each need a 100 nF decoupling capacitor placed close to the chip.
Usage notes
Vdd and Vcc are often used interchangeably on modern boards. Low-voltage cores in modern chips may run below 1 volt, while input/output pins use higher levels. Its counterpart, Vss, is the source supply, usually ground.
