U.L.A. stands for Uniform Laws Annotated, a legal citation abbreviation.

West publication collecting the uniform and model acts drafted by the Uniform Law Commission, with the drafters' official comments, lists of adopting states and annotations of cases from those states. It is the standard source for citing a uniform act itself rather than one state's enacted version.

Example: Because the Uniform Trust Code's official comments appear in U.L.A., the brief cites that volume.

Usage notes

Courts in adopting states treat the official comments as persuasive evidence of what the drafters intended. When a state has enacted a uniform act, the Bluebook prefers citing the state's own statute, adding the U.L.A. citation for comments or comparison.
