UAH stands for Ukrainian hryvnia, a currency abbreviation.

Ukraine's currency since 1996, issued by the National Bank of Ukraine, divided into 100 kopiyok and written with the ₴ symbol.

Example: The donation page accepts UAH, USD and EUR.

Usage notes

The name revives the hryvnia of medieval Kyivan Rus, originally a unit of silver weight. The currency was devalued sharply in 2014-2015 and again after Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, when the central bank fixed the rate before moving to a managed float in 2023.
