TTEE stands for Trustee, an estate and family law abbreviation.

Abbreviation for "trustee" in account titles, deeds, checks and brokerage statements, showing that a person holds assets in a fiduciary capacity for a trust rather than individually. A typical title reads "Jane Doe TTEE, Doe Family Trust U/A DTD 3/1/2015".

Example: The check should be payable to "Robert Lee TTEE" so it can be deposited into the trust account.

Usage notes

Banks and brokerages use it because account titles have limited space; U/A means under agreement and DTD means dated. Successor trustees often appear as "SUCC TTEE". A trustee owes the beneficiaries fiduciary duties of loyalty, prudence and impartiality.
