TDWB stands for Touch-down weight bearing, a rehabilitation abbreviation.
Order allowing the foot of the affected leg to rest on the floor for balance with minimal weight, generally interpreted as no more than about 10 to 20 percent of body weight.
Example: Post-ORIF tibial plateau: TDWB LLE x 6 weeks, CPM 0 to 60 degrees.
Usage notes
Definitions vary between surgeons, so some write "TDWB (foot flat, no weight)". It differs slightly from toe-touch in that the whole foot may touch down. Clarifying ambiguous orders with the surgeon is safer than guessing.
