1. Seborrheic keratosis

Very common benign skin growth that looks waxy, warty and "stuck on", ranging from tan to black, typically appearing after age 40 on the trunk, face and limbs. SKs have no malignant potential and need treatment only for irritation or cosmetic reasons.
Example: Multiple stuck-on SKs on back; reassurance, cryotherapy for irritated lesion under bra strap.
Dark SKs can resemble melanoma, so uncertain lesions are examined with dermoscopy or biopsied. The sudden eruption of many SKs, the sign of Leser-Trélat, is a rare marker of internal cancer. Small dark SKs on the faces of people with darker skin are called dermatosis papulosa nigra. Removal is by cryotherapy, curettage or shave.
2. Saskatchewan

Prairie province that joined Confederation on September 1, 1905, alongside Alberta. Regina is the capital and Saskatoon the largest city, and the province produces a large share of the world's potash and much of Canada's wheat and canola. Postal codes begin with S.

The traditional abbreviation is Sask. Saskatchewan does not change its clocks for daylight saving time and stays on Central Standard Time all year. SK is also Slovakia's ISO country code.
3. SAS Scandinavian Airlines

Joint airline of Denmark, Norway and Sweden, with hubs in Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo. SAS moved from Star Alliance, which it co-founded, to SkyTeam in 2024.
Example: SAS SK 925 from Copenhagen to Los Angeles uses the polar route over Greenland.
ICAO code SAS; callsign "Scandinavian." Founded in 1946 as a consortium of three national airlines. SAS pioneered commercial polar flights between Scandinavia and the US West Coast in 1954. After restructuring in bankruptcy, Air France-KLM took a significant stake.
4. Slovakia

Grew out of Sunkyong Textiles, founded in 1953; the group renamed itself SK in 1998. It is one of South Korea's largest chaebol, controlled by the Chey family. SK Hynix became a key supplier to Nvidia in the AI boom.
