1. Simple Storage Service

Object storage from AWS that keeps files, called objects, in buckets with very high durability, used for websites, backups, data lakes and application assets. Its API has become a de facto standard copied by many other storage products.
Example: Logs are archived to S3 and moved to Glacier storage after 90 days.
Launched in March 2006 as one of the first AWS services. AWS designs it for 99.999999999 percent, or "eleven nines", durability. Misconfigured public buckets have caused many data leaks, so new buckets now block public access by default. The 3 counts the three Ss in Simple Storage Service.
2. Third heart sound

Low-pitched extra sound in early diastole, just after S2, caused by rapid filling of a stiff or overloaded ventricle; the rhythm sounds like "Ken-TUCK-y." In adults over about 40 it suggests heart failure with volume overload.
Example: Bibasilar crackles and an S3 gallop on exam; BNP 1,450.
An S3 can be normal in children, young adults, athletes and pregnancy. It is heard best with the bell of the stethoscope at the apex while the patient lies on the left side. In heart failure it is associated with elevated filling pressures and worse outcomes. Also called a ventricular or protodiastolic gallop.
