Former postal and common abbreviation for Quebec, standing for Province de Québec. It still appears on old envelopes, maps and some forms, but Canada Post's symbol is now QC.

Example: Older mailing lists still show Montreal, PQ, which address software converts to QC.

Usage notes

PQ today more often means the Parti Québécois, the sovereigntist political party founded in 1968. Using PQ for the province is now considered outdated.
