YK stands for Yukon, a Canadian province and territory abbreviation.

Informal abbreviation for Yukon seen in casual writing, tourism listings and older records, but not an official Canada Post symbol; the correct postal code is YT. It is easy to guess from the name, which is why it keeps turning up on forms.

Example: Our order form listed Whitehorse, YK, so the courier corrected it to YT.

Usage notes

Canada Post's YT reflects the territory's former official name, Yukon Territory. When cleaning address data, YK should be converted to YT before mailing.
