Example: Fans debated where the new series fits in the MCU timeline.

Kevin Feige has led Marvel Studios' creative direction since the franchise began. Avengers: Endgame (2019) concluded the "Infinity Saga" and briefly became the highest-grossing film ever. The MCU is organized into phases, and Disney+ series became part of the canon from 2021.

2. Microcontroller unit

Science & Engineering · Electronics & Electrical Abbreviations

Example: The thermostat's MCU wakes once a second to read the temperature sensor and then sleeps to save battery.

Texas Instruments' TMS1000 (1974) was among the first microcontrollers, and Intel's 8048 (1976) and 8051 became industry staples. Tens of billions of MCUs ship each year, and a modern car contains dozens. Popular families include ARM Cortex-M, AVR, PIC and ESP32. In film fandom MCU means the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

3. Medium close-up

Arts & Entertainment · Film, Television and Theater Abbreviations
