LTSC stands for Long-Term Servicing Channel, a software abbreviation.
Windows edition for fixed-purpose devices such as medical equipment, ATMs, kiosks and factory machines, receiving security updates for five to ten years without feature changes. It omits the Microsoft Store and many consumer apps.
Example: The kiosk runs Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021, which is supported until 2032.
Usage notes
Microsoft releases an LTSC version every two to three years, such as Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC 2024. Standard Enterprise LTSC editions receive five years of support, while IoT Enterprise LTSC editions receive ten. Microsoft discourages using it on general office PCs, though some enthusiasts like it for its lack of bundled apps. The older name was LTSB, Long-Term Servicing Branch.
