Gateway to Las Vegas, located just east of the Strip, so casino towers are visible on approach. Southwest Airlines is by far its largest carrier, and slot machines greet travelers at the gates.

ICAO code KLAS. Known as McCarran International Airport until December 2021, when it was renamed after former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid; critics had objected to the record of the late Senator Pat McCarran. The LAS code was unaffected. Passenger traffic regularly tops 50 million a year, driven by tourism and conventions.
