INBDE stands for Integrated National Board Dental Examination, a standardized test abbreviation.

Pass/fail licensing exam for US dentists, developed by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations, that integrates biomedical science with clinical dentistry in about 500 questions over a day and a half. It replaced the two-part National Board Dental Examination (NBDE).

Example: Dental students usually sit the INBDE during their final year of school.

Usage notes

NBDE Part I was discontinued at the end of 2020 and Part II in 2022. Licensure also requires a clinical exam and state jurisprudence requirements. Dental hygienists take a separate test, the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE).
