FYE stands for Fiscal year-end, an accounting abbreviation.
Last day of a company's fiscal year, when the books are closed, annual financial statements are prepared and the external audit focuses. Common fiscal year-ends include December 31, March 31, June 30 and September 30.
Example: Our FYE is June 30, so the annual audit runs through August.
Usage notes
FYE drives filing deadlines: large accelerated filers in the US must file their 10-K within 60 days of FYE. Most Indian companies use a March 31 year-end, as do many Japanese companies. Also abbreviated Y/E or YE.
