EASI stands for Eczema Area and Severity Index, a dermatology abbreviation.
Severity score for atopic dermatitis that rates redness, thickness, scratching and lichenification across four body regions, weighted by area involved, for a total of 0 to 72. EASI-75, a 75 percent improvement, is a common trial endpoint.
Example: EASI improved from 26 to 5 after 16 weeks of dupilumab.
Usage notes
Modeled on the psoriasis PASI and validated around 2001. An international initiative on eczema outcomes recommends EASI as the core clinician-reported measure of signs. SCORAD is an alternative score that also includes itch and sleep loss. Pronounced "EE-zee".
