DAP stands for Delivered at Place, a logistics, supply chain & trade abbreviation.
Seller bears all costs and risks of transporting the goods to a named destination, delivering them on the arriving vehicle ready for unloading. The buyer unloads, clears the goods for import and pays any duties and taxes.
Example: We ship DAP to your warehouse in Lyon; customs duties remain your responsibility.
Usage notes
DAP replaced the old DDU and DES/DEQ rules in 2010. It is widely used for door-to-door deliveries where the buyer wants to handle import formalities itself. If the buyer fails to clear customs, extra storage costs normally fall on the buyer.
